Heroic Productions began working with Gustavus Adolphus College in 2008, kicking off the first of a major three-year commitment to work with Gustavus and its Nobel Conference. Heroic was selected to elevate the quality of the live experience with sound, lighting and video production and technicians, along with Web casting capabilities. In addition to working on the Nobel Conference, 2008 marked the inauguration of Jack Ohle as the new school President and allowed an additional opportunity to impress the Gustavus team of Heroic's abilities to provide outstanding experiences.

Interview

Why did you begin working with Heroic?
Previously we took on the monumental task of producing and staging the College's signature events such as the Nobel Conference in house so as to maintain control on factors such as Cost and Quality. Lets just say that isn't a sustainable approach. After several conversations, a formal bidding process, and a somewhat lengthy courtship, we finally came to the realization that Heroic was the exact organization we wanted to entrust our world-class event to, the College's relationship with the Nobel Foundation is on the line after all. Its not to say that business could not proceed as usual, but this move allowed us sanity, peace of mind and the ability for me to say goodbye to 120+ hour work weeks, while noticeably improving the audience/ presenter experience.

Explain your relationship with Heroic. Do you view them as your partner?
After working with Heroic on several major events I find that I have to remind myself that they are actually an outside vendor.

What has been your experience with Heroic?
Top-notch professionals, quality well maintained gear, and a wealth of knowledge and ingenuity that allows for adaptation to the organic needs of live event production.

How have they helped you succeed with your objectives?
Even in the most hectic parts of a show's schedule, I am able to smile, laugh, and still have time for my family; in my mind that defines success (oh, and the conference was noticeably more enjoyable by the +6000 participants)
